Understand admission, swimming arrangements and what to bring before heading into the park.
Buy the visit you actually need
Turner Falls Park is managed by the City of Davis and has its own admission system. It is separate from the National Park Service recreation area near Sulphur. According to the park FAQ, daily admission is required even when you have booked overnight accommodation; check coverage for both arrival and departure days.
Look at the full booking before paying: people, dates, parking or vehicle arrangements, and any overnight space. Keep the confirmation available when you arrive. We link to the operator rather than repeating prices that may change with the season.
Choose a scenery day or a water day
Seeing the waterfall and spending time in the water require different preparation. If swimming is part of your plan, read the current rules, check conditions and bring the appropriate equipment. The park requires a Coast Guard-certified flotation device for children aged 12 and under in the water; do not assume rentals are available.
At our review on 25 September 2026, the park announced that seasonal lifeguard coverage had ended on 21 September and displayed a burn-ban notice. Pack for the whole outing
- Take drinking water, food and a way to carry out your rubbish.
- Bring footwear suitable for the surfaces you intend to use.
- For a water day, add dry clothes and properly fitted flotation equipment.
- Check pet restrictions and current cooking rules before leaving home.
Plan around what your group can comfortably manage. A photograph does not show the full walk from a parking space, the day’s water conditions or the availability of a particular facility. Avoid making an essential part of the visit depend on an assumption about access.
Leave room for Davis
